Our first Spayathon of 2026 has come to an end.
Over the course of two very intense days, together with our partner vet team, we managed to spay and neuter 133 cats and dogs.
This is 13 more than we initially planned for.![]()
This means 133 animals who will now have safer, healthier lives.
And it also means a number of future lives spared from suffering that we cannot even begin to calculate.
As with any spay campaign, not everything went smoothly. There were moments of stress, things that had to be handled on the spot, and it made for two long, tiring days – but the work continued.
Because this is the work that matters most.
This is the work that changes things in a real, lasting way – not just for the animals we see, but for all those who will now never be born into neglect, abandonment or hardship.
At the same time, we are left with a long waiting list of animals we could not fit in.
In the coming days, we will have to look at what, if anything, can still be done. For many of the females, time is not on our side.
Despite the constant pressure – financial, physical, emotional – we are refusing to step away from this work.
Because we are not only here for the animals already in our care.
We are here to reduce the suffering that keeps repeating itself, generation after generation.
And spay and neuter is at the core of breaking this cycle.
We will let the photos from these two days speak for themselves.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this effort so far.
We still hope more people will choose to stand with us on this journey.
The greatest rescue is the suffering we prevent before it begins.
