Welcome to The Great Catsby
We have a mission to turn nobody’s cats into somebody’s beloved lifelong companions.
The Great Catsby is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organisation run by UK and Romanian volunteers. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome stray cats and dogs from Romania, with many of our animals adopted into loving homes across the UK. Alongside rescue, we focus strongly on prevention – organising large-scale spay and neuter campaigns and education initiatives in high-need communities to reduce animal suffering at its source.

I’m one of the lucky Brighton recipients of our adorable kitty Martha, who’s coming to us later in the week. I can honestly say Donna and Madalina (contact in Romania) as well as all the Great Catsby team are fantastic at what they are trying to achieve for all these cats. The whole process is clear from the start, you have a couple of chats with the girls in the UK for some checks, both over the phone and on video, then the rest just flows (once you have chosen a cat!). Personally I told them what was looking for (on DM) and they put some suggestions forward, told me about each cat and their needs and whether they would suit us and vice versa, even sent videos on request. Nothing is too much trouble. No question is too silly to ask. The cats are delivered with vaccines, flea/worm/spayed/passport/microchipped. I think it’s a fantastic idea to adopt from this amazing charity and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them to others x

This is Silver and I was also a little worried about being scammed when I first started looking for a cat and saw that there were groups adopting out from other countries. The whole process for me could not have been better. He was delivered to my door after a 3 day journey to the UK, I got loads of updates, including photos and videos while they were travelling. He was neutered, vaccinated, with papers and passport. They listened to me, answered all my questions and even now continue to put up with my cat spamming. I would recommend this charity to anyone.
