I rarely do fundraisers anymore because my time is no longer my time. It belongs to the 100+ rescued animals that I am responsible for.
And it is such a difficult period for us, in which we have been constantly saving animals beyond all our means and in which we find that the support we receive is almost non-existent.
For this mommy cat that was saved on the occasion of the last spaying campaign, I have to stop and do a fundraiser.
This poor kitty was brought to be sterilized, among the other 300 animals, along with her kitten. Being old and with obvious health problems, we could no longer send them back to the streets, neither mother nor baby.
And we took them over too, being already overwhelmed by serious medical cases that leave us with huge debts every month. 😔
And then we started: Controls, analysis, tests, investigations, treatment. The elderly mother has FIV, is anemic, has serious problems with one eye, has an enlarged liver and has in her urinary bladder a large stone that will have to be removed through cystomy when she is stable enough for surgery.
Meanwhile, she needs vitamins, liver supplements and diet food. And then the surgical intervention.
All this costs a lot, and through donations we can’t collect even 10% of what we have to pay in a month with these poor animals.
Look at her, look at those two, how happy they are to have been taken off the street and come join us, so we can give this 8-year-old mom all the medical attention she needs!
And she needs a lot of medical attention 😔 before we find her a family to erase her memory of years of suffering.
