It’s done.
Another major effort has concluded yesterday with what we believe is a great result: 64 cats and dogs spayed and neutered.
I won’t bore everyone by going over again how this impact is measured. By now, we all know the multiplication cycle that has been stopped and how many lives this prevents from being born only to suffer.
But I will say this: the level of engagement and support has been deeply disheartening.
Five people. Five people donated to support this Spayathon, and they did so very generously, without a doubt. But it is still only five people, and no, 64 surgeries cannot be covered with this level of engagement.
Dozens of cats and dogs remain unsponsored.
Our debt continues to grow, and so does our worry. Where this leads, we do not know.
We are trying too hard to do too much with too little.
Maybe we need to learn when to stop.
We have been given 10 days to try to raise the much-needed funds to pay for this tremendous amount of work already done.
I know what the chances are. But I am going to make one final appeal.
Take a look at these photos and videos – at what we are doing. Despite already having so many animals in our care, so many worries of our own and so much that needs to be kept going every single day, we are still pushing to do this work because we know how much it matters.
Please look at what was achieved here and consider whether you can be part of it – by helping us pay for these surgeries with a donation, however small.
We have 10 days.
