Unfortunately, without your help, it has become impossible to sustain the food of over 100 rescued cats at The Great Catsby, plus the several dozens we feed on the street, that have not yet had a chance of being taken over. Thank you for your contribution!
In addition to the 150 cats taken from the street, we also take care of the ones we can no longer take. 😞 We sterilize all we find on the street and in the evening we feed the animals that have no one.
I rarely do fundraisers anymore because my time is no longer my time. It belongs to the 100+ rescued animals that I am responsible for.
And it is such a difficult period for us, in which we have been constantly saving animals beyond all our means and in which we find that the support we receive is almost non-existent.
Unfortunately, the mirror of the society we live in can also be found in this campaign's images.
The lack of active involvement and of moral responsibility leads to situations like this: innocent souls that come into this world, unaware that the reality that awaits them is most oftenly death, quick or in agony.
Two months ago we had over 70 rescued cats in our care. Meanwhile, the flood of abandoned babies and serious cases to which we failed to say "no" increased the number to over 100 cats :(
Found... dumped in an empty dog food bag in the trash: 10 newborn kittens.
Thrown away as rubbish and left to die a slow and painful death.
These innocents, too many to belong to just one cat, ripped away from their mothers nests.
Nelson is a cat that appeared out of nowhere in our yard. So far nothing spectacular, another hungry person came to the table.
But Nelson is not just poorly dead, he has experienced all the horrors of living on the street. And when he came, he came with a destroyed eye and a crushed paw, with the bones coming out. Trap or car, who knows?!
