Hello everyone!

My name is Garfield and although I’m a little shy, I’ll try to tell you my story.

I’m about 2-3 years old in human’s years, an age that projects me as an adult, but I feel like a child who needs protection and gentleness.
I’ve had a life full of adventures and not the most pleasant ones, chased from place to place by other toms and tenants, I was always looking for a place to belong or at least be accepted.

Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out that way, I don’t know how to be assertive, which is why I ended up being pushed out and put down by others.

So I’ve retreated each time and kept looking for a place to fit in, a place that suits me better. A quiet place …

I arrived one day somewhere where stray cats like me were being fed and petted daily, even several times a day, I told myself to try my luck, because the woman that was doing all that was smiling at me, calling me in a sweet way that i wasn’t used to being called and she was putting food in front of me.

I have to admit, although I’m a large-sized cat, I’m skittish and reticent, i was waiting for her to step back so I can eat.
In time, that good woman gained my trust and I began to purr for her and show her my appreciation.

The other toms were mean to me, wouldn’t allow me to stay there, so i tried to stay close, I wished the lady would take me with her into the building she always entered. I often wondered what that place was like.

One day, she picked me up and put me in a carrier. I was afraid again… But I found out what it was like inside. Inside it’s quiet, lots of places to hide and observe what’s going on, cuddles come much more often and I’m always being held, caressed and cared for, food is there at my whim.

I have decided: I want at least one Human of my own, who will hold me a lot and who will spend a lot of time with me, someone who’ll have the patience to help me overcome my inhibitions, because I have a lot to offer, I don’t want to share my Human with anyone else.

I just want peace, safety and lots of pampering. I am a big kid and I intend to stay that way.

I need secure access outside, so my ideal home is a house with a catio or a cat-proofed garden.
