We promised you some exciting news, so here it is.

On October 15-16, we are holding a MEGA-SPAYATHON in Tulcea, funded by our wonderful friends at PAW Society – Registered Charity 1204906, who will also be flying in to work alongside us.

We are hoping to spay and neuter around 130 cats and dogs in those two days alone.

But, believe it or not, that’s not all.

We have also managed to secure further help to fund another THREE one-day Spayathons this October, with 50 animals planned for each day.

That’s another 150 spays and neuters.

And knowing us, knowing these campaigns, and knowing the never-ending need around us, the planned numbers will most likely be exceeded. Add to that the animals and emergencies needing to be neutered in between, and we believe we will finish October with AT LEAST 300 more cats and dogs spayed and neutered.

300 animals. In one month.

We are absolutely thrilled and so excited to get all of this done. In fact, we have already started – but more on that in another update very soon.

After struggling so much to raise the funds we needed to keep our September Spay Campaign going, it feels incredible to enter October knowing that so much prevention work has already been made possible.

There is a little sadder note at the end, as this announcement comes after a very quiet Fiver Friday.

Funding secured specifically for these Spayathons is an incredible gift, but the rest of our work does not stop. More than 180 rescued animals still need food, litter, veterinary care and everything else, every single day. Emergencies still come. Bills still come. And keeping all of this going remains a constant struggle. Working so hard for spay and neuter this month only makes everything even harder to keep in line.

We hope that, sometime, somehow, more people will choose to stand behind this never-ending work.

Because we cannot bear to think of the alternative.

For now, though, we celebrate this:

October. Five Spayathon days. At least 300 animals. Hundreds upon hundreds of future lives spared from being born into suffering.

This is the work that changes the future. Let’s get it done.
